Synopsis:
In the hidden dragon sanctuary of Wyrmroost, Celebrant the Just, King of the Dragons, plots his revenge. He has long seen the sanctuaries as prisons, and he wants nothing more than to overthrow his captors and return the world to the Age of Dragons, when he and his kind ruled and reigned without borders. The time has come to break free and reclaim his power.

No one person is capable of stopping Celebrant and his dragon horde. It will take the ancient order of Dragonwatch to gather again if there is any chance of saving the world from destruction. In ancient times, Dragonwatch was a group of wizards, enchantresses, dragon slayers, and others who originally confined the majority of dragons into sanctuaries. But nearly all of the original Dragonwatch members are gone, and so the wizard Agad reaches out to Grandpa Sorenson for help.

As Kendra and Seth confront this new danger, they must draw upon all their skills, talents, and knowledge as only they have the ability to function together as a powerful dragon tamer. Together they must battle against forces with superior supernatural powers and breathtaking magical abilities.

How will the epic dragon showdown end? Will dragons overthrow humans and change the world as we know it?

My Rating:

Quotes I Like:
"I am fed by experiences that stretch the definition of reality." - Stan Sorensen

"Fear and respect are not the same as love." - Orna

"Most fun things are risky! You can get hurt playing sports. You can get hurt climbing a mountain. But it's challenging and exciting." - Seth

"Disliking someone is almost as big a commitment as loving someone, and it carries none of the benefits." - Marat

"Acts of aggression can invite retaliation." - Dalgorel

My Thoughts:
Trolls, griffins, satyrs, unicorns, pixies, brownies, faes, golems, bears and many other magical and mythical creatures...the world of Fablehaven and Blackwell Keep was OUTSTANDING.

Such a wonderful world with such mystical and bold characters. I loved everything about this book. It was full of humor and very packed with magic. I enjoyed the action that took place as well.

Kendra is a very sensible fifteen year old girl. She's responsible, logical and thinks things through. I loved everything about her character. She was confident, but didn't allow her success to get to her head. Being fairykind was also cool as she was able to see things beyond their glamour and illusions.

Seth is the loud, obnoxious and over the top thirteen year old brother. He's the shadow charmer and has to do everything with a flashy show. As smart as he is, he makes dumb choices. Though he made many wrong choices and mistakes I loved watching him grow as a character.

Calvin is so sticking cute! He's a nipsie and very tiny. I love his outgoing nature and how helpful he is a spy. Bracken was so sweet. I am rooting for him and Kendra!!

The Dragon King, Celebrant, was such an evil dragon. He seeks to free his people and fly freely, but in doing so that leaves danger and war to arise. I understood that the dragons were sick of being trapped. I wonder if they are all evil.

Former dragon king Dromadus was pretty damn cool. I loved his whole pacifist outlook and his history as dragon king. Henrick and Marat were a cool characters. They were perfect in helping Kendra and Seth become proper caretakers. Knox was such a funny and reliable person because his imagination was terrible. He always came in useful for Seth when he had a dangerous plan to execute.

While reading this I had to remind myself that this was written for a younger age group so taking that into account I enjoyed this and can't wait to dive into the sequel!
