My Thoughts
OMG! I absolutely lovedddd this story. It was the perfect New Adult romance. I love how it wasn't heavily doused with sex, but was purely romantic.Sky is the sweet girl that tries to please her whole family while making her happiness nonexistent. I loved her character because she grew from letting people walk all over her to stand up for her own happiness. I love how she stood up to her mother, family, Xandros and her ex Bradley. When she finally put her foot down she became a stronger person loving herself. I loved her internal battle about being with Hayden. As the story went on, the feelings grew and she decided to run with them instead of pushing them and him away.
Hayden is the hot roofer/carpenter who falls into Sky's lap, literally. While working on the roof he falls through and meets Sky. He was a sweet guy that was perfect for Sky. His last relationship totally sucked, he didn't push himself onto Sky and he allowed their friendship to evolve at her own pace. I respected him throughout the whole story because he stopped at nothing to make Sky feel special from day one. Not to mention when they did get intimate he paid attention to hrr needs. Freaking awesome.
Leti and River are seriously the perfect bestfriends. Leti is the more civilized friend who likes to have a bit of fun. River is the over the top, rebel, rule breaking friend. I loved how the three of them, Leti, River and Sky, kept one another grounded. They were fantastic friends, but why did River run off like that. I hope she gets the help she needs.
Sky's family was too damn nosy, besides Uncle Tony and Pepe (loved them!). Her mom, aunt and cousins were just too into her life. It felt lile her aunts wanted to live through her and her cousins were completely jealous. Her mom allowed her fears to be a hindrance nin turn making her grill Sky. I thought her mother should have just minded her business the whole time, but eventually she got over herself, as did the rest of the family.
Bradley and Xandros were dicks. They both were control freaks who thought too highly of themselves. Bradley cheated on Sky after three years and automatically thought that he should have a second chance. He was delusional. Xandros is just an over the top, in your face, got to have it all kind of guy. I couldn't stand how he tried to force himself onto Sky, but I'm glad she put him in his place.
This was a beautiful story and I'm simply in love with this author. New autobuy author for me!
