Synopsis From Goodreads:
"It hasn't been the best week for Jessica McClain.

Her mate has been kidnapped by a Goddess hell-bent on revenge --- but Jessica is playing for keeps.

Because she's the only female werewolf in town...it comes with its own set of rules...and powers.

Aided by two vamps, two loyal Pack members, and one very reluctant human, Jessica must rescue her man while coming to terms with what being a wolf really means.

All in a day's work for a girl.

The second novel in the Jessica McClain series is a full on action adventure featuring one angry Goddess and plenty of monsters, demons, and a few newly risen beasties...

Quotes I Like
"Did you just hit me?" Selene's rage tumbled around the cavern, making the rocks quake. "With a rock? What do you think I am? A fucking squirrel?"

"Lady you're no squirrel, but you certainly have some anger issues to work on. I heard you bellyaching from on top of the damn mountain," Ray stated evenly.

My Thoughts:
Started at 3 stars because it lacked the fighting scenes and was a bit slow paced. I did enjoy the adventure they had searching for Selene to save Rourke. What bumped it up to 4 stars is the fact that it ended with another suspenseful search and made me laugh quite a bit. I was also quite shocked at how treacherous a brother could be to his own sister because of love. Good read.

- Spoiler Alert -
First off, I'm excited that the Vamp Queen gave Jessica two of her "servants" Naomi and Eamon to aid her in the journey to find Selene and obtain Rourke, Jessica's werecat mate. Both vampires seemed nice at the beginning, but I absolutely disliked and hated how Eamon sold his own sister out just for so called "love" with Selene the Lunar Goddess. So not cool!

I loved that Jessica's father allowed both Danny and Tyler (her brother) to go along with her as Selectives, but eventually made her a temporary Alpha over the two of them so that they could shift to fight better. Finding that her blood was the key to breaking any bond -- the bond Danny had to the Alpha making Jessica his Alpha and the bond between Naomi and the Vamp Queen -- definitely speaks volume about the Cain Myth and her being a Lycan. She is definitely more powerful than most people know.

The Lunar Goddess Selene had all these interesting critters come out to attack them in the woods such as Underworld pets, Narirds, spirits and much more ... she is definitely a crazy lady. The craziest had to be Jessica finding Rourke cut in half with his body parts all over the place. Selene definitely did a number on him. Thankfully the love between both Jessica and Rourke helped save his life and helped to "end" Selene's.

Ray definitely was brave throughout the first two books. He definitely changed his opinions and sided with Jessica when push came to shove and avoided death several times. The craziest thing is how he died by Eamon. But then Naomi decided to save him after slaughtering her own brother. Question I want to know is if it worked and if Ray will be cool with being a Vamp.

Best part: Jessica fighting off Selene's spells rendering her more powerful than a goddess. Shocking parts: James going rouge, Marcy missing and Calum not contacting his daughter.

In my opinion, Book 2 was not as great as book 1, but it did make me laugh a bit more. Excited to read the next book in this series.
