The whole point of this readathon is to read big books over 500 pages. You don’t even need to read a lot of them. You don’t even need to finish one. The point is that we are all reading those big daunting books at the same time and supporting each other.So in essence, you are tackling those over-sized, thick books you've been wanting to read, but were afraid of the page count.
There will be Instagram challenges as well over on Sam's IG account, so look out for that. I'll try to partake in those as much as possible.
The Challenges
- Read more than 1 tome ✔
- Read the tome that has been on your TBR the longest ✔
- Read a tome that is part of a series ✔
- Read a tome in a genre you don’t usually read ✔
- Read an adult novel ✔
I completed all of these challenges by reading the following books...
1) The Robe by Lloyd C. Douglas was awesome! I gave it a 5⭐. Check out my review here. Adult novel in a genre I don't usually read.
2) A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness was beautiful. I gave it a 4⭐. I enjoyed it, but definitely loved the show more. Check out my review here. My longest book on my TBR -- March 2014.
3) Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff was not the greatest for me. I gave this a 3⭐. Thankfully I listened to the audiobook as I read so that was helpful. Check out my review here. Part of the Illuminae Files trilogy.
The books I didn't finish are...
I do plan to read these books in May so they won't go unread for long.
Overall, I had an awesome time with this readathon and definitely plan to take part in it again.
