My Thoughts:
This was a fun middle grade horror read. I could see my son reading this when he gets a bit older. I enjoyed the dynamic between Jamal and his twin brother Malik. I enjoyed the creepiness of the story as well. I thought Dr. Facilier was a great asset to creep aspect of the story as well. Even though this book is a fun read, it also teaches about appreciating what you have, yourself and the bad side of jealousy.
I loved that even though Jamal is 12 years old, as a woman I could find ways to relate to him and his situation. He felt like a real person and not some far off character. Overall, I truly enjoyed this story and would recommend it to MG grade looking for a "scary" book for the Halloween season!
