Synopsis:
I have a certain set of rules I try to live by. Rules that have always served me well. Until now…

Rule one: Don’t have sex with someone you work with.
Rule two: Don’t have sex with your friend’s ex-boyfriend.
Rule three: Don’t have sex with your best friend who also happens to be the same ex-boyfriend of your friend.
Rule four: Don’t ever, under any circumstances, fall in love with your best friend.

I guess it’s safe to say, I officially broke all four of my rules.

Doctor Andrew Albright. Sexy, arrogant, insanely gorgeous, and eternally off-limits.
Not only is he still in love with my friend, his ex, but he’s my rock. My perfect best friend.
The one person I cannot lose under any circumstances.
Especially when my life has a habit of falling apart on a regular basis.

But one mercy kiss later, to save me from an awkward situation, and suddenly everything changes. He flirts relentlessly. Corners me in dark hallways. Throws me panty-melting stares that render me helpless.
I crossed the uncrossable line. Broke every damn rule.
Now our perfect friendship is falling apart.

And he’s doing everything he can to keep it that way…

THE EDGE OF REASON is a funny, sexy, and emotional best friends to lovers, STANDALONE romance.

My Rating:

My Thoughts:
This book was darn good!!! I definitely enjoyed myself reading this story. I loved the characters and the way each of them meshed so well. This book follows the romance between Drew and Margot who are best-friends.

Margot is a girl with a wrecked past, terrible experiences with men and a broken spirit. She's beautiful inside and out, but she fails to see her own beauty. She's quick to think the worse when things begin to look crazy. She did annoy me at times because you don't get her complete backstory until the end of the book so it just seems like she's a pessimistic woman. I loved seeing her grow to love herself for who she is.

Drew is a man filled with laughter, humor and love. A dominant man. He once dated Aria, Margot's best friend, but has since been a state of romantic limbo. Drew was a great love interest in this story. His work ethic and family dynamics were amazing. He was honorable and protective of every one he loved. I adored his dominant side -- it made me scream and fan myself a bit. I enjoyed Drew.

The romance was beautiful! Cat and mouse chase. Friends to lovers. Fake dating. This was awesome. Drew and Margot are friends that care deeply for one another but think that the other would never overstep the boundary. All is well until a night of a kiss meant to save face for Margot makes emotions run high. I LOVED seeing Drew chase after Margot and try to reel her in to her own true feelings. They were amazing as friends and everyone expected them to be a couple. I loved dominant Drew. He was all hands on -- literally. Margot wasn't a submissive, but with the romance she allowed him to take control so that she could begin to let go of her own issues.

The love they had for each other was definitely evident to everyone except them two. I couldn't stand. Those steamy scenes -- that video chat and that chair scene -- oh my! I had to fan myself a bit. They were amazing.

That hospital scene with Julien and his crazy wife -- blew my mind. I mean seriously. They are both INSANE!

As much as I enjoyed this I gave it a 4 star rating because I wanted more from Drew and Margot. That ending just was not enough. I needed maybe another steamy scene and an awesome proposal -- lol.

Nonetheless, I swoon over how cute Drew and Margot were and would love a novella on them!

About the Author:
J. Saman loves all types of novels, but finds herself always going back to writing/reading romances. She's addicted to Diet Coke and sour candy, and swears way too much. She's an admitted lover of picking at old wounds, second chance romances, love triangles and the perfect amount of angst . She writes smart, strong women and sexy alpha (slightly nerdy) men who have a softer side.
