Synopsis:
The Lie
Women in Hollywood are just pretty faces. But Silvia Bradshaw knows that’s a lie, and she’s ready to be treated as an equal and prove her worth as one of Hollywood’s newest film editors.

The Love
She and Ben Mason had worked together as editors before Silvia got her big break, so he’s the perfect person to ask for feedback on her first major film. But even as their friendship begins to blossom into something more, a lawsuit surfaces, jeopardizing both Ben and Silvia’s jobs—as well as their fledgling romance. Audrey Hepburn once said: “The most important thing is to enjoy your life—to be happy—it’s all that matters.” Silvia agrees. Or she used to. It’s one thing to risk her job and her heart, but can she really risk Ben’s, too? Does she have the right to make decisions for her own happiness when they affect so many other people?

The Breakfast
With everything to lose, Silvia meets Ben for breakfast at his favorite diner, Tiffany’s, for one last conversation before the credits roll on true love.

My Rating:

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this story. Definitely a different kind of romance than I'm used to. I enjoyed that it wasn't doused in sexual content as it was very refreshing. The romance was a bit of a slow burn which I enjoyed. The writing was pretty good, I did however feel like some parts were dragged when they could have been shortened. However, this story showed an innocence in a romance that I haven't read in a long time.

Silva Bradshaw is a strong female protagonist. I enjoyed how she was all for women empowerment without going overboard. She was brilliant, hardworking and knew how to demand credit when it was due. She was a spitfire with a sweet personality.

Ben Mason is the love interest in this story and he happens to be Silva's old boss AND editor at a competing studio. I loved Ben's heart and how much of a gentleman he was toward women. He never pushed, urged or rushed anything to happen. He was a playful guy, but knew how to separate business.

The romance, as I stated, was simply sweet. There was no mention of sexual relations between Silvia and Ben. They both sort of fell for one another and then kept quiet not knowing how the other felt. I appreciated that this wasn't a cat and mouse chase. There were times when I screamed because I wanted them both to kiss, but the buildup was perfect.

Dean is Silvia's boss and he also happens to be a miserable, grade A douche-bag. I could not stand him and how he tried to rip Silvia down. I would have been interested in learning more about his background because he seemed to have a lot of things going on with his little episode.

Overall, the ending was perfect a and I enjoyed this story's connections to Audrey Hepburn. Definitely would recommend this to those looking for a sweet romance with no sexual content.
