Synopsis:
Since being discovered as Soulless, Nadia has become a target for both terrorist groups and government corporations. Now, her only hope for survival rests in the hands of the man sent out to kill her: Diesel, the Mad Dog terrorist.

Diesel is determined to free himself of the never ending curse of reincarnation and the haunting memories that plague his mind. But when his search leads him to Nadia, a greater desire stills him from taking her life.

Unable to see into Diesel's cracking mind, Nadia instead puts her faith into his strength, fueled by eleven generations of unmatched rage and insanity. Their tight-rope relationship balances the two between life and death, love and rage, trust and betrayal.
Tension pulls at the hems of their dangerous companionship, and as time runs out all madmen must eventually make their choice.

Book two of the thrilling Immortal Gene series dives deeper into the danger of trusting your heart over your head.

Readers discretion: Adult language, violence and some adult scenes. For mature audiences only.

My Rating:

My Thoughts
This was a world wind of drama, blood, guts, love and deception. Jacinta Maree has such a beautiful way of grasping me with her words and characters. This book started off at a fast pace and kept it going throughout the whole book. I just couldn't put this book down.

Nadia is stronger than ever in this book. She deals with so many people beating her, kidnapping and lying to her and I never see her really crack. She is strong, beautiful woman. She knew how to handle her own and always looked to other ideas before resorting to killing a person.

Diesel is one crazy guy. I mean between his different lives as Krane, Charles and the other "Diesel" that snuck into her room that night I never know what he will do. I will say that no matter who or which personality comes out his love for Nadia is strong. His fear of loving her will ultimately break him. He needs to stop playing games and fully be with Nadia instead of pushing her away. He may be strong, he can even kill a person quickly, but when it comes to his emotions he's such a damn coward. I still love-hate him though.

The romance was beautiful. I still have hope for them even though they are both twisted as hell (mainly Diesel). I think Nadia just doesn't care much because she feels the connection between them. She doesn't back down from him even when he bugs out. Diesel however just keeps pulling back when he finds he is in too deep with his emotions. I need them to stop playing games.

The soulless are very interesting. I want to know if their are more out there. Finding Hiro was freaking awesome. Hiro was so sweet I just loved the little flirting he and Nadia did towards the end. They would be cute together, but I'm still rooting for Nadia and Diesel.

Blue Dons, Elites, FRIM, poachers, IOS and everyone are freaking insane. Are there any people in that world that aren't looking to kill or harm the soulless ones? What the heck is the S.O.S that Diesel has? I just love this trilogy and I cannot wait for Soul Reaper to come out. I need to know if Hiro is the true cure and if Nadia can find and stop Diesel before he does something destructive.
