Synopsis:
Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

My Rating:

My Thoughts:
This is pure perfection. I cannot express how much I love Jennifer L. Armentrout's writing. She never disappointments me.

This starts off with Katy moving to a new town and having two seemingly interesting neighbors -- Dee and Daemon.

Katy is a book loving, shy yet bold girl. She loves a challenge no matter how afraid she can get of it. Dee is the bubbly teenage Luxen and Daemon is the hot, jerk Luxen. Luxen are aliens from Lux, but they aren't your typical ugly alien. They are pure light and can morph into humans.

I absolutely adored Katy because she was witty and cute. Her character was so realistic that I couldn't not love her. Daemon is a douchebag, but I like him! I loved how he pushed her buttons from day one. He always found a way to make her mad, feel awkward or even feel bad. It sucked, but the fact that he acted childish proved that he liked her, but wouldn't allow himself to because he believed humans and Luxen would never work.

Dee was the fun loving best-friend and even though she was Luxen she acted as human as anyone else. She's just a girl stuck on a planet looking for love, but with all that's going on she fears to step out and love a human.

I loved the action scenes with the Arum and how Katy fought against them to save Daemon and even when she almost died from not telling the Arum where Daemon was. Absolutely beautiful.

The overall story was perfect. I'm interested in knowing if Katy is part Luxen because the pull or chemistry between her and Daemon is very interesting. I hope they get together because they are absolutely adorable.
