I love how this book takes place in New York, has a college student and even a Russian love interest with some drama and action -- great combination! This was also a fast paced read for me which I love!
Lauren Thompson is your normal twenty year old college student. She transferred from a college in Michigan to NYU in the big apple. She endured a very difficult time when she was 5 years old concerning her father which I totally hated, but she grew up to a beautiful young lady. She was a bit naïve, but it worked well for her character considering how her mother and Ross basically controlled her life after her father died.
Mishca Volkov is the son of a Russian Mob boss and a captain. He's very sweet and respectful and also very quiet. He doesn't remind me of a typical Russian Mobster, he was different and I totally liked him for it.
The romance was so cute! I loved how they initially met with Lauren bumping into him with coffee -- so cute! I love how Mishca respected Lauren so much. There wasn't a lot of sexy time which didn't really bother me at all, I enjoyed the intimacy without the sex scenes.
I adored Amber and all of Lauren's friends -- they were totally awesome and replicated a New Yorker very well (I'm a New Yorker myself). The details given to the location and surroundings in New York was perfect!
As for the Bratva -- can you say violence on E. They were insanely crazy! I hated them from the start and I hated them til the end. Don't get me wrong the whole idea of the mob being involved was perfect, but I totally hated them for what they've done to Lauren's life.
I'm ready for the sequel -- bring it on!

There are many characters that return with their own drama and new characters to that come in adding to the drama. Especially Naomi, the ex-girlfriend of Mishca 4 years ago. Naomi just throws this story for a loop.
I loved how Mischa and Lauren reunited -- it was just the perfect way to go for them two.
This ends in a worse cliffhanger than the first book did, so I definitely need the final book ASAP!

Once again this is action packed, full of drama and unexpected changes -- including a new man in charge.
Lauren & Mishca are moving forward in their relationship and their lives. Not everyone is happy for them in their love, but for the most part, those people don’t cause waves, only voicing their opinion.
When the past starts to haunt them and Mishca is targeted, Lauren has to step into the role of protector and avenger to head off any enemies -- new and old. She seeks help from an unlikely source…one who would rather see Mishca dead than work to save his life. But he accepts Lauren’s contract.
The trust that was built in this story was fabulous. I loved all the characters from beginning to end. I really enjoyed this ride with the characters it was absolutely amazing. The ending was still perfect for me.
Let's just say I love this trilogy so much that I am going to reread it again!
